Please be advised that our AGM will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 7:30 pm. Participation is open to all residents of Blackburn Hamlet, however, voting privileges are only for residents who have renewed their BCA membership at least seven (7) days prior to the meeting (BCA Memberships are valid from July 1 2020 to June 30, 2021).
To ensure the health and safety of all, and to comply with provincial restrictions on social gathering, our AGM will be held by way of a Zoom conference. You will therefore be able to participate to our AGM using your computer, smart phone or tablet. or by dialing in to a Toronto number with a standard phone if you prefer. While this may be a first for some of you, you will see that participating to our AGM by audio or video conference is quite easy. You’ll be able to follow the discussion and vote, just like you do at a normal AGM, but all of this from the comfort of your home. You will also be able to ask questions at the end of each presentation.
The three main areas of discussion at the AGM will be a review of our 2020 activities, a vote on a new BCA By-law and election of the board. Board positions include President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary and up to 11 Directors. Our Directors cover a number of different activities – some Directors cover more than one area and other areas have multiple Directors. If you are interested in joining the board (especially if you are interested in covering vacant portfolios such as Youth activities, Senior activities, Environment, Transportation, Beautification and Managing our Web presence), submit your candidacy to email@example.com. If more than one person stands for the position you seek, you will be asked to describe to the voters why you qualify.
To ensure the security of the Zoom meeting, participants will need to email firstname.lastname@example.org at least three (3) days before the AGM in order to register. A link to the meeting will be sent to all registrants the day before the AGM.
We look forward to your active participation in this year’s AGM!
