Saddle up and ride safe!

Make sure your kids learn proper bike safety technique at the annual Bike Rodeo for kids in grades 2, 3, 4 and 5 sponsored by the Blackburn Community Association’s Environment and Transportation Committee.

Certified CANBIKE instructors and volunteers will go over basic bicycle riding skills (starting and stopping, shoulder checks, riding in a straight line, etc.), and provide safety tips and helmet fittings.

Each session of the skills development will be divided into various stations with some practice on the nearby pathways. There will be no riding on roads.

Fingers crossed that COVID regulations which cancelled the event in 2020 and 2021 will allow for an in-person event this year.

Things You and Your Kids Need To Know:

  • Children should be comfortable on a bike (training wheels and scooters acceptable)
  • Online Registration will be available on this page in the spring
  • Certified Bike Helmets are required for bikes and scooters
  • Bike must be in safe mechanical condition
  • Parent or Guardian must provide a signed waiver form at check-in, provided during online registration
