To celebrate the arrival of spring, Blackburn youth aged 9 to 14 (as of 31 December 2023) are invited to submit an original, unpublished poem on the theme “finding joy in the present moment”. Poems may be submitted in either English or French and must not exceed 180 words. All poems must include a title at the top of the poem. The first place winner will receive a cash prize of $150 and follow-up winners will each receive $75. The deadline for submissions is 02 May 2023 at 8pm.
Poems should be sent to youth@blackburnhamlet.ca as a plain text PDF file that is labelled as follows: first name.last name.name of school.age.
