Discovery Café — Two-in-one, better together: A two-virus system for tackling solid tumours using a combined viral/mRNA cancer immunotherapy – Tim Lee, PhD candidate and cancer researcher
Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 7:00 PM, Blackburn Community Hall, 190 Glen Park Drive
Ever heard of cancer-killing viruses? They exist, and they’re proven to work! Problem is, they struggle to work effectively outside of very specific cases.
Join Tim Lee, PhD candidate working at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI), and learn about how the OHRI is tackling this problem, and how the institute is working to engineer new therapies to treat cancer.
Tim Lee works at the Cancer Research Program under the supervision of Dr. Carolina Ilkow and Dr. John Bell. His research focuses on using viruses engineered to kill cancer, and finding new ways to apply them across different types of cancers.
