Ottawa City Planners have received an update on the application from the property owners of 98-100 Bearbrook Road. While the overall composition and design of the building is largely the same, they have removed the top floor, lowering it to an 8-storey, mid-rise apartment building.
The new building has a total of 211 motor vehicle parking spaces (33 surface, 178 underground) and 92 bicycle parking spaces (6 surface, 86 underground). A total of 164 residential dwelling units are proposed: 25 studio, 70 one-bedroom, 24 one-bedroom + den, and 45 two-bedrooms apartments.
For those who have been following the project, as the revision is still part of a “Site Plan Control Application”, it means City Planners must process the updated application under the Province’s new development rules, requiring the same tight timelines to issue their approval, and Council no longer is able to force a vote on the application.
