Please be advised that the Blackburn Community Association (BCA) Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 7:30 pm. Participation is open to all residents of Blackburn Hamlet. However, voting privileges are only for residents who have renewed their BCA membership at least seven (7) days prior to the meeting (BCA Memberships are valid from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022).
To ensure the health and safety of al, and to comply with provincial restrictions on social gatherings, our AGM will be held by way of a Zoom conference. You will be able to participate in our AGM using your computer, smart phone or tablet, or by dialing in to a Toronto number with a standard phone if you prefer. While this may be a first for some of you, you will see that participating ino our AGM by audio or video conference is quite easy. You’ll be able to follow the discussion and vote, just like you do at a normal AGM, but all of this from the comfort of your home. You will also be able to ask questions at the end of each presentation.
The two main areas of discussion at the AGM will be:
- a review of our 2021 activities
- election of the board.
Board positions include President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary and up to 11 Directors. Our Directors cover a number of different activities – some Directors cover more than one area and other areas have multiple Directors. If you are interested in joining the board, please submit your candidacy, with a short bio, by March 12, 2022 to secretary@blackburnhamlet.ca. If more than one person stands for the position you seek, you will be asked to describe to the voters why you qualify.
