Our Seniors Breakfast Get-together on December 6, 2023 was full of laughter. We played the white-elephant game that included silly headwear, flashing necklaces, and soap dispensers shaped like Santa, as well as an ornament exchange game in which people passed a wrapped ornament each time the word “the” was said during a recitation of ’Twas the Night before Christmas. The number of “Shirleys” in attendance at the breakfasts also continued to grow, with a record five at this event. That was one-fifth of the people in attendance!

A week later, on December 13, over 20 people gathered at Olito’s Café for a holiday dinner and karaoke event. There was great food, lots of singing, and even a few fancy dance moves. Who knew we had so much talent in Blackburn Hamlet!?

Finally, thanks to everyone who participated in the seniors survey. The Seniors Action Committee greatly appreciated your input and has begun analyzing the responses.
