BCA Community Christmas Tree

On December 9 the BCA, in collaboration with its community partner, the Blackburn Pharmacy, presented
the first ever Community Christmas Tree event on the property directly in front of the Pharmacy. The occasion brought neighbors, friends and families together to celebrate Christmas.

Some fifty people enjoyed this year’s festivity. The evening had perfect winter weather as an earlier snowfall created a scenic ambiance with the Christmas Tree and its multiple lights and decorations. A key feature of the tree decorations was when the children in the crowd were asked to place specially designed ornaments on the tree, which became a special photo moment for many. Another highlight was the lighting of the Tree by the owner of the Blackburn Pharmacy, Lou Frangian, and our Counselor, Laura Dudas.

The favorable snow condition also allowed many of our guests to make snow sculptures, along with a few who seemingly could not refuse the tossing of snowballs  (Sorry, I could not help myself). Another glorious moment occurred when spontaneously the crowd started singing Christmas carols, in English & French. The evening was a true reflection of why Blackburn  Hamlet is a close-knit family of friends and neighbors.

The BCA is already working on how we bring even more joy to its residents with the 2024 Community Christmas Tree event.
