Bird feeders in Blackburn!

Thanks to the financial contributions from the Friends of Mer Bleue, the Blackburn Community Association’s Enviro Committee was able to get more birds fed in Blackburn Hamlet!

In the spring, we gave a seed bird feeder and hummingbird feeder to each retirement home to be installed outside for the benefit of their residents (and of course… the birds!) Then in June, we held a bilingual bird feeder building event where residents were invited to attend and build their own bird feeders!

I hope that everyone in the community had an opportunity this year to enjoy the diversity of birds we have in Blackburn. We are spoiled!

A very special thanks to Devon for her help, as well as Kevin for his invaluable expertise and help in pre-cutting, pre-drilling etc the wood required for the bird feeder building event (without Kevin the bird feeder building event would have not been possible).
