The Blackburn Run for the Cure was again another great success.
Thanks to all the individuals and businesses who made it happen. Local businesses were very supportive in contributing money, donations and prizes in service or product for the raffle and silent auction. Kudos to The Wholesale Outlet who presented a cheque for $1,200, a donation from the fashion show they held on October 2nd for the Run. Again, we had amazing support from the Freedom 55 Financial Team. Residents of Blackburn and friends who took part and raised the money greatly enjoy the course in Blackburn and the chance to visit before and after the event.
It was a super day in all aspects— weather, participants and dollars raised. The event raised $26,100—the best yet. Over the past 8 years $143,000 has been contributed to this worthwhile and deserving cause. It has also become a special community event. We look forward to seeing everyone next year on October 1st and to continuing the tradition in Blackburn.
