The 7th Annual Blackburn Hamlet Garden Tour was another outstanding display of gardening talent and creativity in the Hamlet. More than 160 visitors viewed ten gardens of all shapes and sizes. Many also took a refreshing break at Amica at Bearbrook for lemonade, BBQ treats and live entertainment. The gardens included surprises such as waterfalls and fountains, spray painted flowers, rock walls, inukshuks, a live rabbit, and a breathtaking display of flowers, ornamental shrubs and trees. Proceeds from the tour will be used for landscaping projects in the Hamlet. Thanks to all the gardeners Jacqueline Madill, Cliff and Laurel Seibel, Joyce Buckley, Gilles and Vivienne Robinson, Steve and Joanne Stasiuk, Claude and Lucille St-Cyr, Sara and Barry Zeigler, Eleanor and Emery Ansari, Evelyn and Joe Thompson, Evelyn and Don Budd, and to our sponsors Budd Gardens, Amica at Bearbrook and Urban Dwellings Consignments who made the garden tour another enjoyable event in Blackburn.

We are now looking for gardens to display in the 8th annual tour June 26, 2005. If you like gardening you probably have a yard that others would enjoy seeing. New gardens are needed each year to keep the tour interesting. Blackburn homeowners who have volunteered their garden for this tour will tell you it’s lots of fun. It’s also a great way to share creative ideas and meet people from the community.
