Last month, RCMP Commissioner Duheme highlighted CRIME WITHIN THE HOME & OFFICE in reference to Fraud & Cybercrime and the losses predicted to increase in the future. It is imperative that community members be aware of scams through the various methods used by criminals. Many of these situations are described in the websites at https://antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca/index-eng.htm and https://www.getcybersafe.gc.ca/en. It is critical to be aware so you don’t fall victim.
Another busy month for crime in Blackburn Hamlet. Again, we stress that neighbours report any and all suspicious activity, persons, or incidents to Ottawa Police 613-236-1222 #7300 or 911. This is much more important than posting these items on facebook or elsewhere. The OPS does not monitor our facebook group.
