Hockey Day in the Hamlet 2026

Don Kelly, Event Coordinator

This year, the BCA’s annual Hockey Day in the Hamlet was held on Saturday, January 17, at the Norman Johnston outdoor rink. The event coincided with the Hockey Day celebrations happening across Canada. Our event was highly successful and had one of the largest attendances of young hockey stars that we have seen in many years.

The BCA is grateful to our community partners, Metro and Tim Hortons, for their continued support and generous donations. Also, a big thanks to the Jeff Miller Team at BGM Real Estate for their outstanding support in the serving of hamburgers and hot dogs to our many hungry participants. I would be remiss if I did not say thanks to the many volunteers: Brent, Paul, Mathieu, Norm, Wayne, Nancy, Clara-Maude and Barry, to name just a few, who without their incredible support, events like this cannot happen.

We would also like to extend a special thanks to our Community Police Officers (CPO), Constables Bradley Burleau and Marcus Cibischino, who spent time with us interacting with everyone while helping in the handing out of gifts. It has been through their time and effort in community efforts like this that our CPOs have been able to foster a strong partnership within our community and to its residents.

The BCA shouts out a Bravo to all participants for making this an extraordinary day for celebrating the hockey spirit!
