by Brent Lawrie,
FunFair Outgoing Chairperson
I would like to thank the Blackburn and surrounding community for another great FunFair. We had some of the best weather and excellent participation from young and old to keep this annual tradition one of the best events in Blackburn Hamlet. I would like to extend a gracious thank you to all our sponsors this year who, along with our great community, enabled us to give $8000 back into our various non-for-profit Blackburn community groups, organisations and associations, via our Honourariums Distribution Program.
I would also like to announce that Steve Vesely, who has been involved with FunFair and the BCA, will be taking on the role as the new chairperson of the Blackburn FunFair. Steve is an exceptional individual who has great experience in organising events and is fantastic with people. He will be an excellent fit as head of the FunFair. Congratulations Steve, you will have my support and many others too as we help you transition into this rewarding role.
Don’t forget to mark FunFair 2024 on your calendars, Friday May 31st to Sunday June 2nd. I hope to see many of you again next year.
Thanks to all of the FunFair 2023 sponsors who continually support our annual tradition.
