Calling all Blackburn Hamlet seniors aged 55+!

Our next seniors breakfast get-together is taking place on Wednesday October 4th at 9:00am and will be held at Broadway Bar & Grill, 1615 Orleans Blvd. This is a great chance to meet new people, share stories and hear about events in the community.

Guests visiting? Bring them along!

BCA Board Meetings

The BCA Board meetings are held using Zoom on the Third Thursday of the month from January to June and September to November.  Residents are encouraged to attend to learn more about the work we do for the community.  If you would like to receive an invitation to the next call on October 19, send an email to secretary@blackburnhamlet.ca.

NEW! BLACKBURN SENIORS WALK-AND-TALK ACTIVITY

Calling all Blackburn Seniors! Please join us for a new series of leisurely walks around our lovely Blackburn Hamlet community.  

When: Wednesday, October 25; Wednesday, November 8 and Wednesday, November 22, 2023, 10:00 AM 

Where: The October walk will begin at the entrance to Isaiah Scharfe Park (Bush Park), on the east side of Bearbrook Road across from Westpark Drive  Parks – Blackburn Community Association (blackburnhamlet.ca) 

More information about the November walks be made available in the coming weeks on the BCA website and Facebook Group and on posters around the community.

Walking routes and length will vary. Comfortable shoes and a water bottle are highly recommended. 

Walks will proceed rain or shine.

October Discovery Café

Adopt a Tree

The Blackburn Hamlet Community Association Adopt a Tree giveaway is returning again this year and the trees will be arriving soon!  More details will be posted on our Facebook Group and the BCA Website soon.

Outdoor Community Rinks Volunteers Needed

The Blackburn Hamlet Community Association is seeking volunteers for our outdoor community rinks at Bearbrook rink and Norman Johnston School.  Volunteers will be responsible for creating and maintaining outdoor rinks from December through March.  We are seeking a team of volunteers for both rinks.  We currently have only 2 volunteers for the Norman Johnston Rink and the season is in jeopardy if we do not get additional support.  If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to Mark Lister at president@blackburnhamlet.com.
