Detour Through Blackburn Hamlet June 23 to 26 due to Montreal Road closure at Highway 174 

The section of Montreal Road under Highway 174 will be closed in both directions from 7 pm on Friday, June 23 until 5:30 am on Monday, June 26 for Stage 2 Light Rail Transit (LRT) construction. Most on and off-ramps at Montreal Road and Highway 174 will also be closed, except for the on-ramp from Montreal Road eastbound to Highway 174 westbound. The westbound off-ramp that turns right onto Montreal Road will also remain open, except from 9 pm on Sunday, June 25 until 5:30 am on Monday, June 26. The following detours will be in place:

Eastbound detour

• Turn right on Ogilvie Road
• Turn left on Blair Road
• Turn left on Innes Road
• Turn left on Bearbrook Road
• Turn right on St. Joseph Boulevard 

Westbound detour (follow the reverse direction)

• Turn left on Bearbrook Road
• Turn right on Innes Road
• Turn right on Blair Road
• Turn right on Ogilvie Road
• Turn left on Montreal Road

As part of the Stage 2 O-Train East Extension, this closure is required to carry out necessary work to the roadway and associated infrastructure.

Ticks & Lyme Disease Focus Group

The University of Montreal is conducting a study on Lyme Disease. As part of this study, they want to work with Blackburn Hamlet and conduct a focus group here to learn more about our interactions, knowledge and concerns with ticks and Lyme disease. The focus group will be on July 9th at the community hall. If you are interested in participating, please email enviro@blackburnhamlet.ca. Rain Barrel Pick Up

Thank you to everyone who purchased a rain barrel!  For those who opted to pick it up, we will be at the Community Hall  (190 Glen Park Drive) on Thursday, June 22 from 4pm to 7pm.

Movies in the Park

The GM Real Estate Team will be hosting 3 movie nights in the park: July 7, August 11 and sometime in September.

These will be held in the Park behind the Community Hall (190 Glen Park Drive) or in the hall if is raining.  More details will be posted on the BCA Website and our Facebook group soon.

Blackburn Hamlet Garden Tour

Date: July 8 & 9, 10 am to 4 pm

Where: 14 Gardens throughout the Hamlet

Time is drawing near for this year's garden tour!

Plan a day with family and friends to come and visit the gardens, get ideas, share your knowledge and be amazed as to what your neighbours have been up to in their gardens.

The tour is free and you can find the map online.  Flyers, maps and street signage will be posted closer to the event date and will also be posted on the BCA website at blackburnhamlet.ca/event/garden-tour-2023/
