SUMMARY:Neighbourwoods
DESCRIPTION:What is Neighbourwoods? The city has very limited information about trees on private property. The purpose of Neighbourwoods is to gather information such as the type\, size\, and health of trees on private property\, as well as in some of our parks to help us plan better diversity in our tree canopy. Volunteers receive free training from forestry professionals to learn how to identify\, measure and assess the health of trees. \nThe Blackburn Neighbourwoods Program is launching its 3rd season. Volunteers will be trained to take inventory of the trees on private property in Blackburn Hamlet. Our next training session with Dr. Andrew Kenny will be May 25 and 26 at the Blackburn Community Centre from 9am to 4pm. \nEveryone is welcome\, even if you can only attend a portion of the training. Bring your lunch and dress for the weather as most of the training is outdoors. \nTo register or for more information about this program please contact Clifton Charie at treeinventory@blackburnhamlet.ca.
