On September 19th Laura Dudas, BCA President presented community awards to individuals who had gone above and beyond to improve the quality of life for those of us living in the Hamlet. Here are some brief intros:
When most of us are still snug in our beds, Bill Logan is out in the cold flooding our outdoor rinks—making sure they are in tip top shape.
Longtime Ringette organizers Sue French and Jane Ross have enabled many women to enjoy the fitness and camaraderie afforded by the sport of Ringette.
Dale Bemben’s dedication to the Blackburn Badminton Club and especially the youth to learn and improve all while having fun.
The Cancer Chase team led by Bill Horne whose dedication to finding a cure for cancer is only exceeded by his desire to serve his community. His enthusiasm to fight cancer is inspiring.
Kaitlyn Demasi and Satinder Sahota have taken the BCA’s online presence to a new high. Thanks go to Satinder and Kaitlyn who manage these online forums from behind the scenes.
Dave Proulx led the community cleanup efforts. Especially thankful since the Spring Clean-up was delayed until the fall.
Shane and Lesley Silva led the newlyformed Senior’s Action Committee and helped the BCA tap into the needs of our aging residents.
And a special recognition to Basia and Paul from Duna who generously donated a portion of tonight’s dinner.
Thank you!
