The 10th annual BlackburnHamlet Spring Clean-up was held April 24, 2010,withmore than 175 participants. We collected more than 100 bags of garbage and more than two dozen leaf and yard waste bags. This year we also had several Blackburn citizens who pitched in either before or after that actual clean-up day, to accommodate their own personal schedules. What a great commitment to our community!

A big thank you goes out to each person and family who took the time out of busy schedules to help clean up our neighbourhood. In particular, thanks also goes out to all those who helped in other ways such as transporting waste back to the Community Hall, organizing the BBQ, flipping the burgers, and providing City of Ottawa door prizes. Thanks to the BCA for their generous support of this community event, and thanks, as well to the local Tim Hortons owners, Howy and Shelley White, for their generous donation of coffee and Timbits.
