Garden Watering Crew
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR WATERING THE BCA GARDENS
Communities like Blackburn Hamlet are fortunate to have an incredible legacy of wonderful volunteers that help enrich our neighborhood in so many ways. As the saying goes, it takes a village…
For the past four years, the BCA’s Beautification goals have focused on beautifying our entry points to our community by establishing gardens at our Gateway signs and by the art installation structure at the four corners. These four gardens are watered and cared for throughout the spring, summer and fall months by volunteers. We are only able to continue these types of initiatives with your help. If you are interested in being a part of the Watering Crew of 2024 or for more information, please contact Miriam at beautification@blackburnhamlet.ca |

Emergency Preparedness Plan
NEW DATE!!
Please note, the date for this event has been changed to Thursday May 30, 2024!
Join us Thursday, May 30 from 7pm to 9pm at the Blackburn Community Hall (190 Glen Park Drive) as the BCA presents Part 2 of the Emergency Preparedness Plan (EPP) for the Hamlet.
Part 1 provided an information session on the multiple factors with implementing the EPP. In particular, the city of Ottawa’s Emergency Management Office outlined the various roles of the municipality, city and local support in an emergency situation. There was also strong community feedback from residents. These valuable insights suggest that a proactive approach to an emergency situation is a prudent and responsible action for our community.
Residents are encouraged to attend the presentation on May 16, where we will provide a draft of the Hamlet’s EPP. The document will also be displayed on the BCA website prior to the event.
Over the last few years, our changing and unpredictable weather has created havoc across many parts of our city. Come join us and learn how you and your family can prepare for an emergency situation while mitigating its impact.
If you want to help us with the event, please contact Don Kelly by emailing safety@blackburnhamlet.ca. |
