Blackburn Funfair
The annual Blackburn Funfair is less than 3 weeks away! Our organizing committee has been working hard to put together an abundance of activities and events for the whole community to enjoy. Get ready to have one of the best weekends to kick off your pre-summer festivities!
At this year’s FunFair you can expect Northern Screamers to tantalize all ages; Ry-J’s Climbing Adventures; the Vengeance Van featuring the ever-popular car smash and axe throwing; the craft brew night; the movie night; expanded showcase and silent auction; the used book sale; the always popular parade (this year honouring our healthcare heroes); field and midway games; fireworks; Jed the Mechanical Bull; the fantastic dog show; EV Experience Electric Vehicle test drives; the BBQ and various excellent food trucks; plus all the great entertainment on the main stage.
This year we have a couple of great headliners for all to enjoy. Friday night’s opening of the craft beer garden features one of Ottawa’s favorite bands, Soul Motion! Get ready for a mix of funk, Motown, soul, and many great hits from the 70’s and 80’s that are guaranteed to get you up dancing. And for the first time ever in Blackburn, for Saturday night’s headliner, we have Ottawa’s greatest party band, the legendary Ambush. Famous for their live shows, Ambush has built an intensely loyal fan base in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec and have received multiple nominations for Canadian Country Music Association awards. There will be a $25 cover charge for the Saturday evening show from 7 pm until close and the tickets can be purchased online.
Don't forget, Bearbrook Road, between Louis Riel High School and Innes Road, will be closed on Saturday, June 3, from 10 a.m. until approximately 10:45 a.m. for the FunFair parade! Please bring a non-perishable food donation that will be picked up by volunteers with Metro shopping carts who will be walking on either side of the parade route. All items will be donated to our local Blackburn Hamlet Food Bank.
