Harvest Moon Community Event

About

Harvest Moon will be a celebration of our country and our community.

Organized by the Blackburn Community Association, in partnership with the Bradley Estates Community Association, the Chateauneuf Community Association, the Chapel Hill North Community Association, the Chapel Hill South Community Association, Convent Glen – Orleans Woods Community Association, and the Pineview Community Association, and sponsor Lafarge Canada, this free event will focus on the organizations, businesses, and community groups that make our area unique and vibrant.

This event will feature activities for all ages with a focus on agriculture, including our farming history, cultural and arts activities, a community picnic, a sunset dance and a fireworks display. All activities are free of charge. Food will be available for purchase onsite.

When: September 9, 2017 (rain date September 10) from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: 1705 Orléans Boulvard.

Parking: Parking will be available on surrounding streets at the nearby shopping centre, however, public transit, cycling, walking and ride sharing are strongly encouraged. A shuttle will be available 3pm-9:30pm courtesy of Orléans Kia.

  • Youth Zone (til 6pm): Tumblers Gymnastics Centre, The Edge Taekwon-do Academy, Wild Roots Nature and Forest School, Graffiti Artist demos.
  • Harvest Village (til 7pm): Just Food Farm, NCC, Women’s Warrior Garden, Monarch Butterfly Habitat, MIFO, Gardening information sessions, Youth gardening demonstrations, Ecology Ottawa, Councillor Jody Mitic, Ottawa Public Library Food literacy program
  • Fill our Soul for a Chance to Fill Your Tank: Bring non-perishable food donations for this chance to win a $100 gas card, sponsored by Orléans Kia
