RAIN DATE IN EFFECT: Saturday, May 5 is Bike Rodeo Day in Blackburn Hamlet

The Blackburn Community Association’s Environment and Transportation Committee is planning a Bike Rodeo for kids in grades 2, 3, 4 and 5. Certified CANBIKE instructors and volunteers will be going over some basic bicycle riding skills (starting and stopping, shoulder checks, riding in a straight line, etc.), safety tips and helmet fit. Each session of the skills development will be divided into various stations with some practice on the nearby pathways. There will be no riding on roads.

The Bike Rodeo will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic School. Check In will start at 9:30AM for session 1, Session 2 at 11:15AM and Session 3 at 1PM. Each 2 hour session will be broken into groups of 10-15 kids based on numbers registered. They will spend about 15-20 minutes at each of 6 stations. Session details, waiver and registration are on the BCA website.
