Mosquito control information session and discussion
October 5, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Residents are invited to an information session on Thursday, October 5th at 6:30 p.m. at the Blackburn Community Hall to learn about what other Ottawa communities are doing to address mosquitoes and to discuss possible options for Blackburn Hamlet. This meeting is being organized by the Blackburn Community Association at the request of several local residents and will feature representatives from:
• GDG Environnement Inc, a company that specializes in biological applications to control biting insects (visit http://www.gdg.ca/en/ for more information)
• Councillor Jody Mitic
• National Capital Commission
• Communities who have actively addressed mosquito populations
• Environmental groups
• Community association representatives
SIN in the Hamlet (Seniors' Information Night)

Save the date for our annual Seniors' Information Night. The Seniors Action Committee will be trying to bring in new vendors and information booths to keep you coming back year after year. Stay tuned for more details.
The Ottawa Public Library hosts many free classes at the branch located in the heart of Blackburn Hamlet, from parent-and-tot sessions to computer lessons. Visit their webpage for a full listing of events.
